Ana Cláudia Coelho received her veterinary degree from the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD), Portugal, in 1997, and a PhD in veterinary sciences from the same university in 2006. Currently, she is Assistant Professor with “Agregação” in the Veterinary Sciences Department at UTAD, lecturing Infectious Diseases, Public Health and Epidemiology. She is a member of the Animal and Veterinary Research Centre (CECAV) and participated in several projects. The primary fields of research interest are related to mycology, mycobacteriology, infection control, biosafety, and zoonosis in the One Health approach. She has authored more than 200 peer-reviewed publications (articles, abstracts and book chapters), and reviews manuscripts for a number of journals.
Between 2014 and 2013 she was the Head of Biosafety Nucleus of the Integrated Master in Veterinary Medicine, UTAD. Between 2017 and May 2020 she was the Head of Biosafety Committee of UTAD.
