Trained as veterinarian I started to work at the institute in 1989 and since 1991 am working on vesicular diseases (foot-and-mouth disease, swine vesicular disease and vesicular stomatitis) as well as bovine leukosis virus. Our institute has a long history on foot-and-mouth disease vaccine development and production. In our research group we have focused the last 25 years our research mainly on foot-and-mouth disease vaccine, initially quantifying the reduction of transmission in vaccinated animals and more recently on relation between in vitro and in vivo cross reactions after vaccination.
