Dr Anna Salvaggiulo

Resident

Anna Salvaggiulo graduated in Veterinary Medicine in 2022 from the University of Bari “Aldo Moro” with a thesis on the evaluation of antibodies against the feline panleukopenia virus. In 2022, she started a PhD program in “Animal Health and Zoonoses” at the University of Bari. In 2023, she enrolled in the MSc program in “Infectious Diseases, Prophylaxis & Veterinary Police” at the University of Bari, and also began the GPCert in Feline Medicine (ISVPS) through SCIVAC, the Italian Cultural Society for Veterinary Animals.

In September 2024, she started her ECVM Standard Residency Training Program at the University of Bari, under the supervision of Prof. Nicola Decaro.

Anna’s research focuses on emerging pathogens in companion and wild animals, with an emphasis on zoonotic pathogens and the feline virome. Additionally, she manages the diagnostics of retroviral infectious diseases of cats at the Infectious Diseases Laboratory of the Veterinary Medicine Department. She has also worked as a tutor for veterinary medicine students in the area of infectious and parasitic diseases.
