Dr. Francesco Pellegrini

Francesco Pellegrini graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Bari, Italy, in 2019. In 2021-2024, he attended the PhD course in “Animal Health and Zoonoses” in the same institution, completing it on 17/07/2024.

During this academic and professional career, he deepened his interests in applied microbiology and molecular biology, allowing him to deeply explore these topics. His main research interests encompass viral isolation techniques, antimicrobial compounds, microbial communities, as well as novel virus discovery and characterization. Moreover, he has developed proficient skills in bioinformatics and data science, focusing on next-generation sequencing (NGS) techniques for viral and bacterial analysis.

This dedication marks his commitment in advancing human and animal health, viewed through a comprehensive ‘One Health’ perspective.
