Dr. Elsa Leclerc Duarte

Elsa Duarte received her veterinary degree from the Technical University of Lisbon, Portugal, in 1996 and spent 4 years in practice. She received a PhD in veterinary medicine in 2009 from the University of Évora. She is an assistant professor of the Department of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Évora, where she lectures microbiology and infectious diseases. She was appointed Director of studies of the PhD in Veterinary Science and is currently the Group Leader of the Animal Bioscience Group of the research centre MED (Mediterranean Institute for Agriculture, Environment and Development). Her research interests include mycology and mycotoxicology, mycobacteriology and infectious diseases of wildlife.
