Dr. Sabrina Rodriguez-Campos

Dr. Sabrina Rodriguez-Campos is a tenured Associate Professor of infection biology in the Bacteriology and Mycology Unit of the Department of Paraclinical Sciences, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Norwegian University of Life Sciences. After graduating from veterinary school at the Justus-Liebig-Universität Giessen (Germany) in 2006, she joined the Animal Health Department and VISAVET Center at the Complutense University of Madrid (Spain) and obtained her PhD on molecular epidemiology of animal tuberculosis in 2012. During her PhD studies, she obtained further training at the Animal Health and Veterinary Laboratories Agency in Weybridge (United Kingdom) and the School of Veterinary Medicine, University College Dublin (Ireland). From 2012 until 2018, Dr. Rodriguez-Campos worked at the Institute of Veterinary Bacteriology, Vetsuisse Faculty, University of Bern (Switzerland) where she was involved in research as well as in the diagnostic service and tasks of the national reference laboratory. During her time in Switzerland, she was awarded the specialist title FVH in the specialty Laboratory Medicine – Bacteriology. She has co-authored more than 40 peer reviewed scientific articles in international journals and is currently supervising three PhD students. In her current position at NMBU, she focuses on host-microbiome-pathogen interactions in neglected zoonotic and reproductive diseases and she is part of the Unit’s diagnostic team.
