Elisa Massella

Elisa is a Veterinary Officer at the Diagnostic Laboratory of the Experimental Zooprofilactic Institute of Lombardy and Emilia Romagna (IZSLER), Piacenza, Italy. Her activity is mainly focused on infectious diseases of domestic and wild animals. She is the first investigator of different research projects focusing on zoonotic diseases and antimicrobial resistance in humans and animals, as well as in food and in the environment. She earned her veterinary degree from the University of Bologna in 2015, followed by a PhD in Veterinary Science in 2019. In 2021 she completed her Specialization in Animal Health, Breeding and Zootechnical Production at the University of Camerino. In 2021 she was enrolled as researcher and from 2022 she became a Veterinary Officer at the IZSLER. On 1st July 2024 she began her ECVM Alternate Residency Program under the supervision of Dr. Andrea Franzo (DVM, PhD, Dipl. ECVM).
